As as reminder, there is no school Friday to accommodate teacher professional development.
Math groups this week will be a cumulative review. Parents will be working with a small group that includes their child for 40 minutes. Students will be encouraged to help each other solve problems and get through it as a team. Having one parent for each group will really help! Thank you to all who volunteer. Language Arts
We will continue The Trumpet of the Swan this week. Spelling will be atypical, with a test on Thursday. Writing and grammar will focus on prepositions and we will type our essay on the Titanic. We will continue to work with prepositions and memorize the list together. The preposition test is Thursday. Students will review their stanzas to memorize Father William. The recitations will be on Wednesday.
Math
We begin working with time this week! Make your kids tell the time for you frequently as this is an important skill!
Science
This week we will be learning about light. Students will learn how light travels and how shadows are formed.
History
We will continue our Earliest Americans unit. We will learn about the Anasazi, the Mound Builders, and the Hopi and Navajo people.
