Parents, thank you for partnering with us in your child's learning. We believe that homework, while important, needs to be carefully balanced with a child's full family and extra-curricular life. With that in mind, please reflect on your child's experience with homework in the first quarter by responding to a short survey.

Language Arts: There will be no spelling this week because of half days. Please be practicing our poem: Catch a little rhyme by Eve Marriam. It is due Oct. 30. Our next literature story will be The Chronicles of Narnia, but we will not begin for two weeks. Our reading focus will be turned toward comprehension and story skills.

Math: We will finish unit 3 this week by practicing division concepts and test on Tuesday. Then we move into the multiplication by 6 facts! Don’t forget to practice multiplication flashcards at home regularly! Can you volunteer for math groups Wednesday morning?  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080a4da4a629a1fa7-wednesday

History: Students will continue their study of the Roman empire by being introduced to the republic form of government and the two groups of government officials: Patricians and Plebeians. Also understanding how the early Romans believed in many different gods and goddesses. They will also be reading several Roman myths.

Science: This week, students will be learning about voluntary and involuntary muscles and how to care for their muscles. There will be a short open-note quiz on Tuesday to review last week’s lesson on cells.
