Quarter 2 Week 2

Don’t forget that the Field Trip to the MIM is Friday! All permission slips should be turned in to the teacher. Remember to send your child in with a labeled sack lunch and a disposable water bottle. Lastly, do not send money with your child please as we will not have access to the Museum store.

Language Arts

This week we will be working on various story elements and learning about the genre of Personal Narrative. We will continue spelling this week with a test Friday after the field trip.


Math

This week is all about reviewing Unit 3, which consisted of multiplication and division for our 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10 facts. The multiplication and long division algorithms will be tested! Be sure to work nightly with your child if they are still struggling with long division to aid in retention. There will be a cumulative test on Thursday. Science

We will be learning about the muscular system this week! Students will be able to explain the difference between voluntary muscles and involuntary muscles. There will be a quiz on Monday of next week!


History

This week we will continue our Rome Unit. We will take a look at some of the myths and legends of Ancient Rome. We will also start learning about the difference between Patricians and Plebeians in Roman society.
